PJC Construct

Mawson Lakes Student Accommodation

Est. 2019

Adelaide, South Australia

Project Overview
PJC Construct used WorkSiteDiary while delivering a major student accommodation project in Mawson Lakes, valued at approximately A$100 million and involving more than 1,000 unique workers.

Reducing Administrative Demand
From the start, WorkSiteDiary was focused on supporting a large and changing workforce without creating a matching increase in manual data entry.Through ongoing iteration with PJC’s safety team, the platform was shaped around minimal touchpoints and simple worker-led information capture. This reduced the need for site managers and safety personnel to continually enter information on behalf of workers.

QR-Based Site Processes

Post-COVID familiarity with QR codes made them a practical way to collect information on site. WorkSiteDiary used QR-based workflows to support key site processes through a simple two-stage approach: workers submitted their information, then authorised staff reviewed and approved it.Inductions were moved away from manager-led manual entry, allowing workers to provide their own details for check-off. This reduced administrative handling while maintaining oversight and control.

Keeping Workers Informed

A bulletin feature was later introduced to help workers stay informed about current site updates, notices and important information. This gave PJC another direct communication channel without adding unnecessary administrative complexity or relying on information being passed through multiple people.

Adapting to Project Needs

WorkSiteDiary was developed in close collaboration with PJC throughout the project.Rather than applying a fixed process, the platform was refined around how the site operated in practice. The result was a system that supported workforce growth, reduced repetitive administration and made it easier to collect, review and communicate site information across a large commercial project.
